TINUBU Absent As Presidential Candidates Sign Peace Pact

News Room The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, was absent on Thursday As the presidential candidates of other political parties were physically present for the signing of the new - customary peace pack. However, Tinubu's running mate, Kashim Shetima, was present at the signing alongside Atiku Abubakar of the People's Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People's Party among others.

Ex- Super Eagles Captain and Chelsea Legend John Mikel Obi Announces Retirement From Football At 35

News Room The former Nigerian captain and Chelsea Legend took to Instagram on Tuesday, September 27, to announce his decision to hang up his boots with a lengthy statement. Mikel kicked off his professional career fair n 2004 wih Norwegian outfit Lyn. CHELSEA later scouted him two years later and brought him to their star-studded squad at Stanford Bridge. During his 11- year stint at West London, he amessed a total of six goals and 13 assists in 372 appearances. The 35- year- old won two Premier League titles, three FA Cup trophies, the 2007 League Cup, and the 2013 Europa League. Mikel was also part of the Chelsea side that won the 2012 Champions League trophy. Obi Mikel left Chelsea in 2017 for Chinese outfit Tianjin TEDA before his return to England for Middlesbrough only two years later. He moved to Turkey in 2019 where he won the Turkish Cup with Trabzonspor a year later. 24 -Year-Old Law Student Has Been Kidnapped In Calaber By Unknown Gunmen

News Room Suspected kidnappers have abducted a 24-year-old law student, Dora Effiom, in Calaber, the Cross River State Capital. The State Commissioner of Police, CP Aminu Alhassan, who confirmed the incident on Thursday September 1, said the victim was abducted at about 1am on Wednesday in Ikot Ansa area of the city. Alhassan said the student was kidnapped at the house where she lives with her parents and siblings. The CP said he had directed the command's Anti-cultism and kidnapping squad to unmask and arrest those behind the abduction. I want to use this medium to again warn those who are only on Cross River for crime sake to leave the state immediately, because no criminal will be spared," the police boss stated. Civil Servants Are More Corrupt Than Politicians- Senate Committee

News Room The Senate Committee on Ethics Privileges and Public Petitions has said that it has discovered that corruption is more endemic in the civil service than in other sectors following an investigation they carried out. Speaking in Abuja on Wednesday August 31, at a two-day workshop on Governance, Accountability, Ethics and Due Process in Public and Private Sector Establishments in Nigeria, Chairman of the committee, Senator Ayo Akinyelure (PDP, Ondo) stated that Civil Servant are more corrupt than the political class. Akinyelure averred that for the Buhari-led administration to win it's anti-graft war, it must first get rid of corruption in the civil Service. He also said that public servants spend more yeas in service than politicians which is why "corruption persists in the public sector." BREAKING NEWS, EFCC ARRESTS OGUN SPEAKER, OLUOMO, AT LAGOS AIRPORT

News Room The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo. Oluomo was arrested on Thursday morning, September 1, at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State over allegations of offences bothering on financial crimes. It was learnt that the speaker was being grilled in the custody of agency. A source at the EFCC said he had been invited several times but failed to honour the invitation Source- Sun News Reports.
